PLAY! By Sephora July Box Reveal

For the first time since subscribing to Sephora’s subscription box back in April, I am finally able to say that I have received a genuinely value-packed box. To give a brief overview, this month’s box is themed “Beauty Staycation,” and contains a selection of summer savers and super-nurturing skincare made for indulging anytime, anywhere.

The collectible bag was lackluster as usual (looks like they’re not breaking tradition there with cloth sack #3), but the products were a stellar lineup and my favorite to date.

As usual, I received a PLAY! Book containing tips, product information, and beauty advice on how to get the most out of my products. Also included is a bonus card for 50 extra beauty insider points when redeemed in-store with a purchase.

1. BOSCIA Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment (full-size price is $38)

Face masks are on the higher end of the skincare spectrum, so I was very impressed to receive this generous sized face mask from Boscia. This swirled black and white charcoal mask claims to “balance skin’s moisture, absorbs impurities, and minimize the appearance of pores.” At the age of 27, I have never used a face mask in my life, so I’m excited to slather my face for the first time ever.

2. MILK MAKEUP Cooling Water (full-size price is $24)

If you’re confused about this product, so am I. Apparently this is a cooling water that “refreshes and soothes skin for a quick boost of moisture when you’re on the go.” it’s enriched with marine minerals and is a cooling summer “multi-tasker” that will invigorate your skin and give it an energized look. So far it just sounds like a cooling stick you can dab on your face to feel temporarily refreshed. 😕

3. IT COSMETICS Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara (full-size price is $24)

Finally, a mascara! This one is by IT Cosmetics, and the mascara is actually tiny, it’s just housed in misleading packaging (which I think was a deliberate choice to add to the wow factor). This is an innovative lengthening mascara that claims to “give lashes volume, reach, and lift with just one inky-black coat.” I’ve rarely met a mascara that I don’t like, so I have high hopes.

4. BAREMINERALS Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Swag (full-price size is $18)

Words cannot express how excited I was to receive this liquid lipstick. To date, I have been sent two lip products (a neon pink/purple and a deep gray/brown), but to be honest, neither are colors I’d pick out for myself. This on the other hand, is definitely a product I’d pluck off the shelves! The color is a beautiful pinky-mauve and I’m all about the liquid lipstick trend. Very nicely done Sephora & bareMinerals! The frosted packaging also gives it a very luxe vibe.

5. BRIOGEO Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray (full-size price is $20)

Finally, we have a hair product by Briogeo. Last month’s box also contained a hair product from Briogeo, so I was slightly surpised to see another in this box. It’s not a repeat but it does feel slightly reptitive. This is an ultra-light leave-in conditioning spray that claims to deliver “non-greasy moisture without weighing down hair.” My hair has been dry and scraggly lately, so I can’t wait to see if this product improves that situation.

So that’s it! These are the total products I received in my box for July, including this month’s fragrance bonus, which is a sample of Orange Sanguine by Aterlier Cologne. My least favorite product is the Cooling Water but I’m still excited I received something from Milk Makeup.

If you enjoyed this post, feel free to look back on my previous posts covering the boxes I received for the months of April, May, and June. Thanks so much for stopping by, and don’t forget to check back for next month’s box!
