New Additions to My Wardrobe: Edition III

It’s been close to three months since I’ve last published a fashion haul, so prepare yourselves for a big one! I’ve mainly focused on adding versatile pieces to my wardrobe that I feel I’ll get a lot of wear out of as I mature. Much of what I own is relegated to wearing on the weekends, and now that I’m getting older, I’m finding that my wardrobe lacks pieces I can build polished, professional looks around. I’ve included the price and link to each item (if available) above the photo.

If you’re interested in seeing the pieces I’ve added to my wardrobe, keep reading! 😉

H&M

Flutter sleeve blouse with light dotted pattern $9.99

I’ve always been more of a Forever 21 person than an H&M person, but I’ve actually found a lot of great finds there recently. I plucked this soft versatile, summer staple out of the H&M at my mall. I love the soft flouncy sleeves, and the potential it has to pair well with almost any skirt.

This black skater skirt is also from H&M, and it cost a bit more than I expected – $17.99. However, it has a nice quality and durability to it, and it’s perfect for casual wear or the workplace.

Pink applique crochet shoulder short sleeve top $9.99

Lo and behold, this top (like the first) was only $9.99! Considering that Express had a top with a similar aesthetic for around $39.90, I thought it was a great alternative. I love the intricate crochet detailing on the sleeves.

Black and white skater dress $17.99

I could not believe my luck when I found this incredibly tasteful dress at H&M, and at such an affordable price. It’s the perfect work dress. It’s sophisticated, ladylike, and cut very conservatively (high neckline and appropriate length).

Ribbed multi-color short sleeve top $17.99

This is a VERY G-rated top, and it runs the risk of looking a little too grandpa’s-sweater-while-playing-bingo (at least in this picture). However, it’s one of those fitted tops that work well with harem pants! I just chose my least roomy pair, so the whole outfit looks small.

Gray skater dress $5

This dress was on sale for $5! I had to get it. It’s a cute go-to gray fit and flare dress, so I really didn’t mind that it said “Minimalism” on it. I’d have preferred just a solid gray though.

Marshall’s

So I made some amazing discoveries at Marshall’s, which as it turns out, really does have a lot of great finds! None of the four tops I purchased were over $19.99.

Vince Camuto top $19.99

Hello, Ms. Businesswoman. This ruched smoky purple top fits like a glove and the material is smooth and soft. I also like that it’s high coverage while still showcasing your figure.

Carmen draped open cardigan (beige tan) $19.99

Kindly ignore my face above, I have no idea what profound moment I was having. Getting back on-topic, this sweater is #goals 😍 It was honestly love at first sight. I love the shawl collar and the moto-jacket-esque zipped sides.

Verve ami draped open cardigan (beige tan) $19.99

I actually bought this sweater before the other one, and once I laid them next to each other on my bed they looked incredibly similar. The main difference is in the draping. This one is more of a blanket style cardigan.

I added this in last minute so I do plan on listing the brand for you above as soon as I can. This is another perfect top to pair with a pencil skirt, it’s very work-appropriate and I like that it’s smooth and sleek and provides high coverage.

Express

Slim fit sleeveless cream and black patterned blouse with gold zipper

Express has become one of my favorite places to shop (as evidenced by my most recent haul).

I went to Express after work during one of their 50% off in-store-only sales on a day when it was 50% off all tops, and walked away with two beautiful blouses. I purchased this sleeveless Slim Fit Portofino shirt, which is accented by gold and black detailing, and feels like an instant glamorous outfit.

Slim Fit No Pocket Portofino Shirt $49.90 reduced to $24.95

Additionally, I purchased this mauve-y long-sleeved Portofino shirt. My blouse selection is incredibly lacking so I was so excited to add a proper full-length sleeve shirt to my collection. I love the color, luxe semi-sheer fabric, and fit.

Deep V Keyhole Tank $29.90 reduced to $17.94

This top is just one of those must-have blouses. I tried it on and suddenly felt transformed. It’s figure flattering while looking office-appropriate. I liked it so much I bought it in two colors!

Black Pencil Skirt (gold zipper)

This skirt looks amazing here but I completely regret buying it. I bought it in a rush and it was reduced to only $11.99. But it’s so stiff and tight that I can only move my legs one inch at a time 😪 I already got rid of the receipt though, so I’m going to have to make do.

Mid Rise Extreme Stretch Skinny Dress Pant (Petite in size 2p)  $79.90 reduced to $39.95

I’ve been looking for a pair of chic dress pants to tuck my blouses into, like like my coworker Erica, who is effortlessly chic. I’d been trying on every pant I could get my hands on, but ultimately Express had what I was looking for (and I scored this 50% off!). The petite fit gave me that nice cropped ankle length, and they’re stretchy yet structured! ✔️

High Waisted Striped Ruffle Mini Skirt $59.90 reduced to $29.95

Okay… noob moment. I’ve been wearing the tie on this skirt the wrong way. Instead of just tying a bow in the back, this is how it’s actually supposed to go.

Oops. When I saw it in-store my mind immediately matched it to a skirt YouTube blogger Sammie Maria mentioned in a video around May 30th. That one was from Topshop! Don’t they look identical?

I’m pretty sure Express copied Topshop. In any case, I am now the proud owner of this flouncy, tiered little number, and I got it for 50% off the same day I purchased the pants! I love how girly it is, and as you can see in the photos above, it can be styled in very different ways.

Notch Front Pencil Skirt orig. $69.90

V-Neck London Tee $24.90 reduced to $15 and change (can’t exactly recall)

I picked up this short sleeve tee on clearance. It’s incredibly soft and is just one of those really perfect layering tees. I like the fit and the hi-low hem it has (not pictured here, sorry).

OLD NAVY

Mid-Rise Rockstar Jegging in Rinse $34.99 reduced to $25

So Old Navy has been rocking my world with their Rockstar jeggings, which I’ve ordered in several finishes/colors. I want all my jeans to be as legging-like as possible, and these are super skinny with unbelievable stretch. I really love that they are an easy pull-on style, and the waistband flattens my midsection.

I’m not sure which of these jeggings are which, but all are the Rockstar jegging, so try searching that on Old Navy if you’re interested.

Stevie Ponte-Knit Pants for Women $29.99

The Stevie is a go-to legging for wearing in professional settings. They’re made of luxe ponte-knit material and are very satiny and thick. They look more like smooth black skinny pants than leggings, and are warm and durable, perfect for New York winters.

Luxe Curved-Hem Scoopneck Tee for Women $16.99 reduced to $10.19

I was perusing Old Navy on a whim and found these simple, understated tees. They appealed to me because they’re elegant basics that I think will make great layering pieces.

Luxe Curved-Hem Tee for Women $16.99 reduced to $10.19

I purchased them in two colors – Cream and Icelandic Mineral.

GARAGE

Catching Feelings Tee $14.95 no longer on site but similar tees here

How cute is this clingy top? It says Catching Feelings, and it’s my first and only piece of clothing from Garage, a brand that I’d never heard of until recently. Their clothes and vibe reminds me so much of Brandy Melville, albeit made for a slightly younger crowd (high school *cough*). I love this shirt!

Express: Rose Gold Almond Toe Flats $34.90 reduced to $17.45!

During one of the four-hour Express in-store sales, all shoes and accessories were also 50% off, so I picked up these cute glittery flats for just over $17!

Call It Spring: AMABILLIA Flat Sandals $49.99 reduced to $19.99!

I’d been waiting for these sparkly ankle-strap sandals to go on sale for  a long time because $50 was way too expensive. Just when I thought they were all sold out, I saw that they had re-listed them for $19.99 for a limited time promo, so I ordered them ASAP! Excuse the sneaker in the above photo.

DSW: Lulu Townsend All Over Mini Jewels Clutch $29.99

Finally, I picked up this glittery purse at DSW for $29.99 because I love all things glitter, and the white gold sparkly finish is just stunning. Coincidentally, the shoes and bag match each other perfectly, so the next time I dress up I plan on pairing these together.

Whew! Finally, we’re done recapping my latest wardrobe additions. While I did shop a lot, I consider almost every purchase a steal because it was inexpensive to start with, or, made extremely affordable by a sale. Thanks for visiting my blog, and I hope you make it back for my next blog post! Until next time , have a great day.
