This month I received my second Ipsy box after my friend sent me a free Glam Bag in August. I decided to stay subscribed, so this month’s box contains products from Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics, Manefit, Pixi by Petra, Smashbox, and tarte!
I love that Ipsy sends you an email (with Spoiler Alert in the subject line) that includes a link to view your Glam bag ahead of time. It is actually one of the best feelings in the world to dig in and wait for your products to load across the screen, hoping, praying, it will be exciting. My friend Erica and I totally opened ours at the same time and then compared what we were given.
What do you guys think of my bag? I was really happy because I received four true beauty products and just one skincare (which matches my beauty preferences very well). The blush and lip gloss are both this beautiful nude-y rose color and who doesn’t love mascara, let alone from tarte?

- Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Nude Beach
I’ve never heard of this brand before but the packaging is beautiful and so is the lip gloss. I tried this on and I really liked it. It’s a warm pink that has slight gold shimmer. Usually I prefer a fuller lip so I’d probably pair this was a nude-y brown lip liner to complete the look.
2. Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance Primer
I have a fear of primers and I did not check primers for the “types of makeup products you like most” section, so I am somewhat unimpressed with receiving this. Primers and silicone make my skin itch and I’ve just never reacted well to them, nor has my foundation benefited in any way. But I’ll push these thoughts out of my mind and give this an honest try at some point.
3. tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4-in-1 mascara
This mascara by tarte comes highly recommended by the beauty community, so I bought it a few months ago. I like it on its own but love it paired with the It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara! I’m stoked to be getting a mini so I can take this little guy with me in a pinch.
4. Manefit Beauty Planner Mask – Mugwort, Astringent + Pore Care & Beauty Planner Mask – Lily, Whitening + Brightening
These were kind of the wild card in my Glam Bag. I didn’t recognize the products or the brand name, Manefit. While I do prefer receiving beauty products to skincare products, if I receive skincare products, sheet masks/wash off masks are my preferred product. I just love the concept of masks – they seem so fun and are formulated to deliver results in just a few minutes.
5. Pixi by Petra Fresh Face Blush in Beach Rose
I love this blush! It’s the perfect addition to my blush collection, and fits perfectly into that neutral/tan/mauve color family I love so much. I feel like this shade will make me look rosy and healthy.
RATING: b+
Ultimately I give my September Glam Bag a B+ because although I like the blush and lip gloss I received, and appreciated the tarte mascara, I’m not keen on the primer, am unsure of the masks, and like (but don’t love) the bag itself.
